The idea of canopy date back to the 70’s when the rain and cloud forest canopies were the last remaining frontiers of botany, zoology, entomology and ecology. Ph.D. students Donald Perry and John Williams were the first ones climbing a tree using harnesses to ascend a tree. Then, some people saw the entertainment potential this activity had and that is the way the Canopy Tour was born.

You can have the chance to explore and admire the beauty of the Mombacho Volcano treetops, air plants and coffee by sliding through a steel cable on its unique Canopy Tour. It has 15 platforms, 13 steel cables and 1 aerial walking bridge. Also, you will have the chance to see howler monkeys hanging out over the branches of the trees.
